Taking AP tests

by seniordd  US  ny  发表日期: Sun 18 September 2016 7:22 pm

I am a High School senior and throughout High School I have taken AP classes, but I never bothered to take AP tests. I really dont know why, I guess I just didnt see it as a necessity. I am currently applying at schools and realized I dont have anything to put for my AP scores. I am taking 3 more AP courses over my senior year and am now planning on taking the AP tests for these. Is it to late?

Only a few schools may use AP scores for admission decisions. Taking the AP tests and passing is mainly to receive college course credit. If you are applying to elite schools, they may question why you didnt take the exams but not a major deal breaker for most schools.

Thanks for your help! Some of the schools I am applying to are elites. Would you suggest putting these AP exams slated for May in the application even though I dont have score reports for them? Should I just state that I plan to take AP tests?

If the application allows you to report planned AP tests, then yes. At this point, this your only option.

"Yes, you can state planned AP exams on the common app (unsure of other school-specific apps). Colleges might question why you didnt take the exams if you took the class, but it wouldnt make or break your app. "
