MICHIGAN NEWS: Interlochen Arts Academy is Michigan's most expensive private school, based on an MLive survey of more than 300 private institutions around the state. Perhaps Michigan's best-known private high school, Interlochen is a boarding school near Traverse City that draw teens from across the country for its arts programs. Its tuition is $37,450.

Business Insider: The University of Southern Maine has scratched plans for a co-educational, international high school on the campus here. The plan had been to attract juniors and seniors worldwide in a feeder effort to bolster the university’s sagging enrollment and finances. The University of Maine Board of Trustees last year approved plans for The International Academy that would have opened in fall 2018.

people.cn: 近年来，赴美就读高中的中国学生人数不断上升，留学低龄化成为趋势。2015年美国私立寄宿学校的国际学生中，大约40%是中国学生。2016年排名前50名的美国东岸寄宿高中，申请的中国学生平均人数达到300人以上，部分热门学校甚至高达700人。胡润百富的相关报告显示，当前“高净值人士”偏好在高中阶段送孩子出国读书，约占30%；大学排在第二位，占比逾23%；偏好在初中阶段送孩子出国读书的人士，则占13%。

Sina Education: 暑假阅读是每所学校都有的，但是各校的要求不同，其结果也就必然不一样。现在的学校，也和其他学校一样，早早就布置了暑假的阅读书目。但是学生返校开学并没有急着检查学生们的阅读作业，而是仍然给足够的时间让学生们认真仔细地完成暑假阅读作业，直到开学一个多月了才要求学生提交。这期间，学生们也是潜心研磨，精益求精。提交的作业都很用心，相当有水平。这应该就是精读的要求和目的。

2018年美国H-1B加急申请名额解冻,延期申请仍被冻结

Sohu: 美国移民局(USCIS)当地时间9月18日发布公告，自即日起全面恢复属于2018财年名额内的H-1B加急申请(premium processing)！ 包括6.5万个普通名额，以及2万个拥有美国硕士以上学位的名额，不过对其它类别的申请，比如延期，加急申请的冻结依然持续。

New Haven Register: One-tenth of one percent might sound small or exclusive in many instances, but it’s a point of pride for Hopkins School. Of about 16,000 National Merit semifinalists for 2018, 19 of those students — or about 0.1 percent — attend the independent college preparatory school in the Elm City. The total was the most in the state of any public or private school. Second was Greenwich High School with 15.

the mercury news: Imagine high school without grades, transcripts without A’s, B’s or F’s, and college applications without grade-point averages. It’s not a wild dream: It’s a goal more than 120 of the nation’s elite high schools have come together to achieve. “The grading system is imploding on itself. When you get to the point where 75 percent of kids have a 4.0 grade-point average, that’s meaningless,” said Than Healy, head of Menlo School, a private college prep high school in Atherton. “All that tells the kids is that nothing but an A is acceptable.”
